The Beacon Community Cancer and Palliative Care Service is supported by its own charity, the Beacon Appeal. The formal objectives of the Beacon Appeal are:
To raise funds for the provision of essential services that are not traditionally funded by the NHS ie dietician, counselling and art therapy
To support the development of services provided by the Beacon Service
To raise awareness in and develop relationships with the local community in order to further these aims.
The Beacon Appeal is a registered charity (no.1102947) and has a fundraising target of £250,000 a year. All funds raised through the Appeal are spent against clinical and other patient-related priorities.
