Want to get involved as a Volunteer?

Meeting
Come and join a great volunteer team at The Beacon Community Cancer and Palliative Care Centre in Guildford.

Would you like to meet new people, make new friends and gain new skills whilst helping local people and their families who are affected by cancer and other life changing illnesses?

We have many interesting volunteer opportunities.

At The Beacon Centre we help and support local people who are affected by cancer and other life changing illnesses.

If you can spare a few hours a week, you can help to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families by becoming a member of our volunteer team. We provide full training and travel expenses.

Here are some of the ways you can help:

  • Home Visiting
Practical and emotional support in the home setting for patients and their families.
  • Driving Patients
Transport between home and the centre can be a problem for some of our patients.
  • Reception
Could you be one of our warm and welcoming receptionists?
  • Information Centre
Direct and help visitors to find the right information.
  • Patient Hospitality
Being there to listen, help in the kitchen, serve beverages and lunches.
  • Complementary and Relaxation Therapies
With the relevant skills and experience, you can help.
  • The Beacon Appeal Charity
Become an Appeal committee member; help with events and activities; form a local Beacon Appeal support group in your neighbourhood or with your friends.
  • Creative Activities
Some people help by offering to share their creative skills.

We would like to hear from local schools and colleges, clubs and societies and companies interested in volunteer projects.
